The Oscar Fish is a tropical Cichlid that is native to the Amazon region of South America. Oscars are often referred to as river dogs, they are one of the more intelligent aquarium fish that you will come across, they seem to have the ability to recognize their owners and be aware of what is going on outside of their aquarium. Feeding time is always fun as they are keen eaters and will consume just about anything you give them. Oscars are the boss of the tank and they will rearrange the tank to how they like it, digging into the substrate, wrecking plants and knocking down ornaments, if you want to setup a showcase display aquarium, Oscars have other plans. With the right set up and proper care Oscars will provide years enjoyment, they are suitable for anyone with a keen interest in learning more about Oscars.
